Over the past three years, California’s public schools and community colleges have been cut by more than $20 billion –  nearly $3,000 per K-12 student. More than 40,000 educators have been laid off; class sizes are soaring; entire music, art, and sports programs have been eliminated; and entire schools are now shutting down due to state budget cuts.

We have the 8^th largest economy in the world but rank 43^rd in the nation in education spending, and last in the ratio of students to teachers, counselors, librarians and nurses.  This has to stop!

We need your help.

On Friday, May 13th, there will be a rally held on the west steps of The Capital Building in Sacramento.  At this rally, we will be pressuring the state legislature to fully fund quality public schools in California!

 Parking is going to be at a premium, so The Vacaville Teachers Association has chartered a 50 seat bus to take participants from the parking lot at Vacaville High School, to the steps of the capital, and back again.

The bus will leave the parking lot at Vacaville High School, at 3:45 sharp.

Refreshments will be provided!
